2nd Year - General Cardiology Fellows

Clinical Interests: Preventative, cardio-oncology
Research Interests: In my PhD, I studied the role of smooth muscle cells and endothelial cells in atherosclerosis with particular focus on the role of inflammation. More recently, I have been focusing on the pathophysiologic similarities of cancer and cardiovascular disease and how this might be of clinical relevance.
Why did you choose UCSF?: The combination of research and clinical excellence in a beautiful city with really kind inspiring colleagues - what more could you ask for?
Hobbies and/or Fun Fact: I love experimenting in the kitchen and any activity that allows me to be outside.

Why did you choose UCSF?: There are few places where you can work with incredibly talented and humble colleagues, be on the cutting edge of science and clinical medicine, and get access to the next frontier of innovations in patient care. I also love the combination of the rewarding county experience at SF General and the high acuity/high complexity care we provide at Moffitt. Finally, it's a joy to learn and serve alongside such bright and friendly co-fellows!
Hobbies and/or Fun Fact: Like many others in SF, I love being outside, running along the Embarcadero, finding new sunset hikes, playing tennis, and exploring the Bay Area.

Hobbies and/or Fun Fact: Surfing, white water kayaking

Research Interests: Health services and policy research, medical device regulation, medical education

UCSF offers an unparalleled learning environment -- from the rigorous clinical training environment to the breadth of research opportunities, impressive mentorship, and prioritization of diversity in the workplace.  
Hobbies and/or Fun Fact: When I'm not in the hospital, you can find me kayaking on the San Francisco Bay, playing soccer, or exploring new cuisines. 

Clinical Interests: General cardiology, global cardiology and public health, and otherwise still exploring!
Research Interests: HIV-associated cardiovascular disease, structural determinants of health, global/public health, and health policy.
Why did you choose UCSF?: I chose UCSF because of the fantastic clinical and research mentors who have a deep commitment to teaching and innovative research. The opportunities to learn and care for patients across the 3 hospitals is also a key strength - I especially love SFGH. UCSF is truly one of the best places to pursue research in health outcomes and public health to address health disparities.
Hobbies and/or Fun Fact: Exploring San Francisco museums, hiking, reading, playing piano, baking and cooking for family and friends.

Clinical Interests: Congenital heart disease, aortopathy, advanced imaging, echocardiography 
Research Interests: Aortopathy, genetics of CHD, advanced imaging in structural heart disease
