Aarthi Sabanayagam, MBBS, MD

Associate Clinical Professor

Dr Sabanayagam joined the Division of Cardiology in 2020 as faculty member of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Program and Co-Director of the Cardio-Obstetrics Program. Prior to this she graduated from the ACHD fellowship program at UCSF and then went on to join the COACH program The Ohio State University and Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus Ohio.

Dr Sabanayagam graduated from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute in 2004 after which she completed both her Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular medicine fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center (AECOM) New York.

Her clinical interests include caring for the growing ACHD population as well focussing on cardiovascular disorders in pregnancy.She also spends time reading performing complex transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms.

She is highly involved in trainee and medical student education and was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Department Medicine at OSU.
