TCSCP Our Mission
Millions of people suffer from complex diseases such as cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disease, and cancer, just to name a few. The main goal is to bring discoveries made in the lab to the bedside for the treatment of patients with such complex diseases.
Complex diseases such as cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disease, and cancer share several common molecular pathways that lead to disease progression. To develop drugs for these broad groups of diseases, the TCSCP is focusing on therapeutically exploiting specific common denominators that are shared between these diseases.
Our work is being done through the Cardiovascular Pipeline of the Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regeneration Medicine and Stem Cell Research, and through the UCSF Translational Cardiac Stem Cell Program. We are a multi-disciplinary team of physicians and scientists with expertise in both translational research in patients and in basic research in cardiac development and physiology.
